Balloon + souks, full day
Sunrise over the Palmeraie comes first, with around an hour in the balloon before you come back into Marrakech for a guided city and souks walk. You'll see the Atlas from the air, then spend the rest of a roughly 10-hour day on foot in the medina with a local guide. Two very different views of the same city sit in one outing.
Today, hour by hour
That's the balloon morning. The rest of the day follows after breakfast.
COLLECTION 5:30 to 6:00 · OTHER TIMES FROM THE SUN · CONFIRMED AT BOOKINGHow the morning runs
Your driver collects you from your hotel or riad between 4:30am and 5:30am and transfers you to the Palmeraie launch site. Welcome drinks and a pilot briefing come before inflation and boarding.
This pairing runs about 10 hours door to door, so the early start leaves room for a proper medina walk after breakfast.
You fly for around an hour over the Palmeraie and surrounding countryside as the sun comes up. After landing you return to base for an open buffet breakfast and a flight certificate.
If the balloon cannot fly, the team will contact you as early as they can that morning. The city walk can typically still go ahead.
After breakfast we transfer you into central Marrakech. An English-speaking guide leads a walking tour of key landmarks and explains the layout of the medina so you can browse with more confidence.
Comfortable walking shoes matter here. Streets are uneven and busy, and this half of the day is on foot.
The souks portion includes time to browse with your guide on hand for navigation. Lunch during the city tour is not included, so you choose where to eat in the medina.
Private transport then drops you back at the nearest accessible point to your accommodation. Purchases in the souks are at your own expense.

How long does the full day take?
The combined balloon flight and city and souks tour runs for approximately 10 hours door to door, from the early morning pickup through to the end of the guided city tour.
Exact timings can vary slightly depending on the season and how the medina portion is paced.
Do I need previous ballooning experience?
No, the flight is led by certified pilots and crew who give a full safety briefing before takeoff, so first-timers are well looked after.
Balloon flights are weather dependent, so timings can shift slightly if conditions require it.
What does the city and souks tour cover?
The guided portion takes you through Marrakech's medina, covering key landmarks and the souks, with a local guide explaining the history and helping you navigate the market stalls.
It is a walking tour, so expect a good amount of time on foot through narrow, busy streets.
What should I wear?
Warm layers are useful for the pre-dawn balloon pickup, with comfortable walking shoes and lighter clothing for the souks portion later in the day.
The medina can get busy and warm, so breathable clothing is a good idea.
Is this suitable for children?
Families are welcome, though the pre-dawn pickup, around an hour standing in the basket, and a full day walking through busy medina streets should be considered for very young children.
Share ages when you enquire so the team can advise on suitability for both parts of the day.
